Former Nigerian Presidential Aide, Ken Saro-Wiwa Jnr., Dies at 47

The Wiwa family of Ogoniland, Rivers State Nigeria has announced the passing away of a former Nigerian Presidential assistant, Mr. Ken Saro-Wiwa jnr.

The junior Ken was the first son of the late Nigerian famous writer and outstanding publisher and humor merchant, the late Ken Saro Wiwa, who was judicially murdered by the Sani Abacha dictatorship for his advocacy against degradation of the Niger-Delta. The senior Ken Saro Wiwa was executed alongside eight others known as the Ogoni 9.

Ken Saro Wiwa jnr., reportedly died in a London hospital where he was admitted after suffering massive stroke earlier in the week.

The Saro Wiwa family, in announcing the passage requested for privacy and prayers from the generality of Nigerians and other sympathizers.

Ken Saro-Wiwa jnr., served as a Special Assistant on International Media and Publicity to former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. He was in charge of liaisons with major international news outlets for the administration. He was aged forty seven years.
