The Chairman/Executive Director of the foundation, Mr Godwin Nonso, made the call during the unveiling and dedication of the foundation at Christ Oriented Assembly Church in Kuje Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the unveiling and dedication ceremony featured praise and worship, thanksgiving and prayers for the foundation to succeed.

According to him, Nigerian youths have been asserted as fundamental components in peace and nation building of the society at large.

He emphasised that youth ought to seek knowledge as future leaders and not destruction, stressing that peace is panacea to a prosperity and development in Nigeria.

“This is a global foundation that will be touching lives all over the world, we are here to touch the people especially the less privileged and the needy and the orphans.

“We also want to help people who have medical challenges and we encourage literate education by giving out scholarship and encourage people who want to go back to school.

“There is a lot the foundation will do and this is just the few among others, as you can see we started with a team and we have philanthropist, partners and volunteers.

“Just the way plants grow and become a tree, we are going to be taking it step by step and we will get there like that,” he said.

On his part, the Deputy Director/Secretary Mr Goddy Wongdem said there was need to know the essence of peace adding that “No nation on earth can develop without peace and unity.

The Secretary said we can achieve great things in Nigeria and the world at large if there is peaceful coexistence among one another.

“In fact, there are so many nations around the world fighting one another and this can lead to economic backwardness.

“I want to advice the youths generally to shun violence wherever you find yourself and embrace peace anywhere any time.

“The youths should resist all attempts by self-serving politicians to plunge the nation into anarchy for political offices ahead of 2023 general elections.

“Our politicians should also consider the peace of the country because without peace there will be no development,” Wongdem said. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
