The federal government yesterday release 4 additional names of oil marketers for criminal investigation. Earlier last week, Government release a list containing 21 oil marketers, with this new addition, it is expected that a total of 25 oil marketers will be prosecuted by the EFCC.
The number, according to Senior Assistant to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr. Paul Nwachukwu, has been confirmed by the Presidential Committee on Verification and Reconciliation of Fuel Subsidy Payments.
A summary of the infractions which the committee confirmed were committed by the 25 firms are listed in the table below. As the information shows, some of the companies claimed payments for consignments brought in by ships which investigations revealed were either non-existent or were somewhere else in the world!
