Following alleged intervention by some Peoples Democratic Party’s elders, the Governor of Bayelsa State Timipre Sylva may have received clearance to run for second term on the platform of the party.
Sharpedgenews.com learnt late Wednesday night that all day meeting at the party Secretariat in Abuja brokered a compromise purportedly allowing President Jonathan to overlook the many trespasses of Sylva thus enabling him to contest alongside other governorship hopefuls in Bayelsa State.
A source explained that the embattled governor’s worst fears still lurks in the fact that he would not be given a free pass during the forthcoming primaries. It was alleged that serious horse trading was involved in Wednesday’s waiver given to him.
The Nigerian Governor’s Forum also made an intervention on behalf of Sylva, as they appealed to the President to pardon him on Wednesday.
