Ambrose Alli University Alumni Celebrated her 4th Annual Lecture Series and Dinner in Honour of the National Executive Committee NEC members penultimate Saturday in Abuja Nigeria.Speaking with newsmen at the occasion was the Worldwide President of the AlumniDr. Clifford Imade Omozeghian Esq. He remarked that the AAU Alumni has its National Executive Council, NEC. across the globe, adding that they were in Abuja to hold their quarterly meeting hosted by the FCT branch. Enlightening further, Dr. Clifford said, the essence is to discuss matters of great interest bothering the university, the students as well as the management of the institution of higher learning.While throwing light on the menace of missing files and students’ results sheets in the school, he said the association is working assiduously to digitize the school further to forestall re-occurrence.Reacting to a concern that a vice chancellor would hesitate to swiftly clear a student that an International organization intends to employ, but requested the school’s identification to clear such a prospective employee, Dr. Clifford said that the Vice Chancellor was not trying to deny ex-students’ clearance, but was trying to ensure that he is dealing with the right person because of high rates of scammers, as no vice chancellor will hesitate to clear students who‘s employment will eventually bring about development to the school.While contributing to the media chat, the United Kingdom/Ireland Branch Chairman Comrade Enoneme, said all institutions of learning are committed to producing future leaders, as such, he encouraged the Alumni to work in synergy with State Executive Governors who are the patrons of each State Alumni Chapter working in line with their policies in order to foster the development of the alma mater.The chairman, FCT Branch, Amb. Dr. Peter Orobor Ovbokhan, in his address, welcomed H.E the former Governor of Edo State, Prof.{(Sen) Osarheimen Osunbor, who is special of honour, Amb. Mrs Janet Olisa OON, Mr. Anthony Iwere Iwobe, AMNIM, FCAI, Hon. Justice Godwin Iheabunike guest speaker, Mr. Festus Ikosi Eguaoje, Director General Edo State Liaison Office, Chairman of the occasion, Barr. Paul Odion Abulu, Special appreciation to the worldwide president of AAUvAlumni, Dr. Cliford Imade Omozeghian Esq, president of other associations present, and Distinguished awardees. ” My most profound gratitude for the opportunity given to host the significant event. The 4th Annual Lecture Series and Dinner in honour of NEC of Ambrose alli University Alumni Association. The Theme of this years occasion been,The Role and Contributions of Alumni Association in Nation Building and Development, was thoughtfully chosen due to the current social cultural, and political developments in our association, and Nigeria at large.” Dr. Orobor further remarked that FCT branch is honoured to host the National Executive Council in concert with the 4th Annual Lecture Series and Award Dinner. He said that, the NEC brain storming meeting bothered on critical issues concerning the school as well as planning upcoming events towards raising funds to erect more structures in the school, adding that AAU has net worth members across board that are doing well in every sphere of life.According to Ambassador Orobor “We synergize to ensure possible ways to contribute to the development of our Alma Mater” Dr Peter said the Alumni worldwide is doing all it can to set a pace for others by building structures in the school and equipping them with modern facilities that will ensure safety of records in the school. On his part, the chairman of the occasion, Mr. Eguaoje Festus O. Ikosi said, he is privileges to preside over what has envolved into a cornerstone of the association’s intellectual and civic engagement, which he described as a forum where ideas meet actions. The alumni reconnect not just with each other, but with larger purpose of nation building. Eguaoje said the Theme of this year’s lecture is timely and compelling, as it invites them to reflect on the powers of collective share responsibility. He opined that ” as alumni members, we carry not only the imprint of our time at Ambrose Alli University, but also a duty to invest in the future of our alma matter, our community and our nation”‘ respectively. He specially acknowledged the presence of Hon. Justice Godwin Iheabunike guest speaker of the occasion, whom he described as an exemplary leader of value and excellent.” My heartfelt appreciation to the FCT chapter, the planning committee, and alumni supporters whom contributed to the success of event”Mrs Gladys Odegbaro, an alumnus, who is a Director at the Federal Ministry of Justice said she became a member in 1988, lamented the prevailing cultism in schools of higher learning these days, saying in her time, they enjoyed relative peace on campus. She enjoys the youths to channel their energy to positive and innovative activities that will better their lives.It was indeed an evening of delightful entertainment, awards and re-networking by all present. Ambrose Alli university Association started in 1987 after six 6) years of existence of the university, some graduates of the university came together to establish the Bendel State University Alumni Association, now Ambrose Alli University Alumni Association. The first National President was Mrs P. O. Agbare who assumed office in 1989, Her election was preceded by a protem administration set up in 1987, to carry out the spade work which led to the inauguration of the first National Executive Committee in 1999. During this period, all members of the newly constituted NEC were based in Ekpoma. The administration was Short’s lived. Arch. Timmy Ikhisemoje was elected the second National Present in 1990. At the 5th Convention of the Associationn. In 1994,’ Arch. A. V. Itoro from Lagos chapter was elected as the 3rd National President of the Association, this time around, members of NEC were based in different parts of the country, and it gave the EXCOs a National outlook.
