The Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria (FOGMMON) Abuja Chapter, has donated food and non-food items to orphans at the Abuja Children’s home, as part of activities to celebrate its eight year anniversary.
Mr Emmanuel Nsubong, Coordinator, FOGMMON FCT Assembly, said the aim of the donation was to celebrate with the children and to make them feel special and loved, despite the economic situation in the country.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items donated include; rice, bottled water, indomie noodles, spaghetti, detergents, beverages, vegetable oil, clothes, shoes, bags, among others.
He said the group which came into existence on the Aug. 18, 2014 was out to give back to the less privileged and vulnerable groups in the country.
“Today, we are celebrating the goodness of God and for what God has done for FOGMMON.
“We choose to celebrate with the children as it is a significant thing for us to do, as we all know that these children do not have means of livelihood.
“Today, we decided to come and celebrate with them, to share in their joy and to give them the little token that we have put together for them.
“This is all to the glory of God and to thank God for keeping FOGMMON to celebrate its eight year anniversary,” he said.
Also speaking, Mr Reuben Okala, a member of the group, advised the children to always look up to God for their needs, adding that the group on its part would continue to assist them.
“To mark the eight year anniversary of our organisation, we decided to celebrate it with the less privileged children at the Abuja Children’s home.
“It has been great so far as they are happy to see us, we also used the opportunity to share the word of God with them and assured them that despite their situation, God can reach out to them,” he said.
Mr Inade Felix, Coordinator, Abuja Children’s home, who appreciated the group for their kind gesture, also prayed for God’s blessings upon them.
“We are indeed very grateful to God for having them in our midst, today is a special day.
“They have brought a lot of items to us and this shows that they are doing what they are preaching, we are very grateful,” he said.
