Happenings in Ondo Guber Election

The Ondo gubernatorial election took off on an encouraging note in most polling centres across the state. Registered voters trooped out in their thousands in

the state to demonstrate their civic responsibilities during the election.

At Oba-Ile Second Gate Unit 2, Akure, INEC officials arrived their polling units ahead of time for accreditation and voting. Security operatives were also seen there.

Many of the electoral officials are seen educating voters on the rules and processes of casting their votes.

Party agents also appear to be having  cordial working relationship with INEC  officials.

There have been very little complaints of failing card readers and missing names on voters registers.

Police vans are patrolling the town and checkpoints were mounted at strategic locations.

Out of the 28 governorship candidates in the state, there are four major contestants. The four major candidates are Eyitayo Jegede of the state’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Olusola Olusola of the Alliance for Democracy, (AD) and  Olu Agunloye of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP).
