Not just a handful, over 30 souls including the vulnerables, children and young men and women who constitute the state workforce were brutally murdered by bandits brandishing Ak-47 rifles in Babban Rafi Village in the Gummi LGA of the state penultimate Wednesday. The bandits, SHARPEDGENews learnt stormed the villages in the early hours of Tuesday shooting sporadically thereby taken the local vigilantes, military and police unaware and offguard. While the unleashing came in the wake of the armed forces remembrance day throughout the country with Zamfara State Government sternly issuing warning to the bandits to surrender their arms from the state capital. Recall that the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Usman Nagogo, at a recent briefing first week of January, narrated how 6,319 persons were unjustifiably killed by bandits across the state. Could hunger in the land also responsible for the unwarranted killings? With the rampage of maiming and killings accentuated with the breakdown of law and order, it is becoming increasingly difficult for farmers, aid workers and students outside of the state capital to go about their daily chores.
