A Medical Practitioner Dr. OlawaleOyegbola has sent a save our soul (SOS) to the Executive Governor of Lagos State BabatundeRaji Fashola (SAN) and Security agencies in Nigeria to save him, his agent AlhajiTajudeenOguntayo and his immediate family from those he described as land grabbers who are allegedly acting under the instruction of Oba Richard Ogunsayo, the traditional monarch of Ibeshe land, have forcefully possessed his legitimate properties in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Narrating his ordeal to a motley of Journalist in his office, he said sometime in 1982 he acquired 100 (one hundred) acres of land from the Falana family of Orupodi via Ibeshe in Ikorodu and he was put into immediate possession and subsequently used the said land for agricultural purposes for over five years.
Speaking further, he said he travelled to the United States of America when the activities of NichemtexCo.Ltd, which channeled its waste through the portion of land where he was carrying out his activities subsequently led to the destruction of livestock and plants causing his company to go underground. On his return to Nigeria and precisely in 2009, he was woken to the grim fact that a certain Oba Richard Ogunsanya of Ibeshe, in conjunction with some hoodlums, had trespassed on the land and had sold large portions of same to some unsuspecting members of the public. Prompted by the foregoing, he handed over the caretaker ship of his properties on the said land which worth is placed at well over 85 million naira to his agent AlhajiTajudeenOguntayo.
If he had thought that engaging a caretaker will solve his problem, he was dead wrong because the care taker further informed that the land had been trespassed upon again by one JamiuAdetutu (aka Germany) who in collusion with OlusolaOsibajo, KabiruFalana, NurudeenLani, DosunmuFalana, JimohOgunboshin, MoshoodShotonwa (aka SP) OriyomiOlaide, Oba Richard Ogunsanya, BabatundeOgunyemi, Idowu Alashe, GbolahanOlaide, MorufuKausara, Rasaki aka Gobe, JamiuBasanya and IdrisAjasa are selling portions of the land to unsuspecting members of the public.
Irked by this report, he said he personally went on an first-hand assessment of the activities of those who have encroached on his land and that to his chagrin while on the land, he was confronted by JamiuAdetutu aka Germany with a retinue of thugs in tow who were armed with dangerous weapons such as guns, machetes, clubs and charms.
Speaking further, he said after he was intimidated and physically insulted, he was ordered to quit the land in his own interest and that where he failed to heed their instructions, he will have himself to blame.
“I then told Jamiu that I will report their incursion to the Police authorities to which he boasted and daringly told me that no Police station, division or formation could move him out of the land, stressing that I will get to know that he is well connected to Police top notches and that if in the process of defending the land and any of his boys are arrested, he would easily pay their way out” he added.
If DrOyegbolaOlawale was lucky to have escaped without been physically assaulted, Femi Sekoni a father of three, who was sent to see the level of work done by his co -Surveyors was not that lucky as reports have it that he ran into the JamiuAdetutu-led dare-devil who were sworn to revenge the bounty placed on Sir Kamoru Lamina, aka SIR K, one of the gang leaders descended on him and the Okada man that brought him to the site. He was severly dealt with machete cuts on his head and body and thereafter left in the pool of his blood and by the time policemen arrived the scene and took him to Ikorodu General Hospital, it was too late, as he gave up the ghost.
The Divisional Police Officer in Charge of Ipakodo Police Divisional Headquarters Mr.Dickson Charles Onyeka a Superintendent of Police (SP) confirmed the incident but told our Correspondent that on that fateful day, he was on his way to attend the Commissioner Of Police monthly briefing when he was alerted on his radio communication gadget that there was crisis in Ilemere/Orupodi in Ibeshe area of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area in Ikorodu.
He said he immediately ordered his men on ground to urgently attend to the situation but that unfortunately by the time they arrived, the deed had been done and that presently two of the hoodlums Messer’s GbolohanOlaide, RasakiOgunyemi aka Gobe are in Police custody while frantic search has been intensified to get others who are currently on the run.
Against the backdrop of events DrOyegbola then called on the authorities to come to his aid as he alleges that his family is now been constantly harassed and threatened.
The Police report on the activities of Jamiu and his co-travelers, made available our Correspondent and which was duly signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police J B .Kokumo and referred to the Office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) averred that after thorough investigation, the Police intoned that (1) JamiuAdetutu aka “German” has no inheritance in the landed property and was never related to the complainants (2)That other complainants are aware that the property had been sold even before they were born and that they had ratified the purchase by collecting various sums from the tenants (3) That the complainants had sold the thirty acres benevolently given to them by AlhajiTaiwo (4)That the complainants had constituted themselves into bunch of hooligans which had constantly terrorized owners of the properties and residents inclusive.
In concluding their report, the Police say they have discovered that the true owners of the land are Dr. OlawaleOyegbola and Evangelist Amos Bakare and that the land had been duly documented and power of Attorney given to AlhajiTaiwo which still subsist till date. In the light of the above, the report averred that JimohAdetutu, DosumuFalanaJimoh has no legal rights to impose them on the property as they did by preventing the rightful owners to make use of their properties. They then recommend that the file be duplicated and sent to the legal department of the Nigeria Police for vetting and possible prosecutions.
As at Press time, the Medical Practitioner has literally gone underground with members of his household for fear of coming to harm as Jamiu and his thugs are determined to teach him the lesson of his life.
