FROM Minna, the Niger State capital, emerged the horrid story of the decapitation and vaginal mutilation of a two-year old girl who is believed to have fallen victim to sadistic ritualists in the area.
The mindless act is believed to have been perpetrated at the site of an uncompleted building at Kafin Tela/Tunga area of the state capital, a stone-throw from where 2-year old Ummul-Khairu Muhammad lived with her family.
The killing has left the people of the area in a state of shock.
Saying that the 2-year old girl was her first child, the mother 22-year old mother Malama Fati Muhammad, reportedly said had plans for her now-late daughter attending Quranic School, only to learn of her brutal mutilation in the hands of yet-to-be-caught criminals.
According to the mother, the girl who was hardly ever out of her sight was in the middle of a change of clothes after getting wet, but had stepped away unknown to her.
Local police claimed awareness of the event and assured the public that investigation is in progress.
