*Thumbs Up For Akpabio’s Action

Contrary to the news making the rounds that the removal of Umana Okon Umana,
as the Secretary to the State Government has brought about enmity, the largest ethnic group in the state- the Ibibio, has described such rumour as unfounded. They, however, thanked the state governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio for sacking Umana
The chairman of Ibibio Democratic Forum, Prof. Udom Essien who made the position of the group known, after an enlarged meeting of the group. He hinted that, Obong Umana Okon Umana was a devil incarnate who never saw anything good for the Ibibios during his stay in Office.
The chairman wondered why people should have carried such rumour stressing that, within his stay; he masterminded the killing of several Ibibio sons and daughters.
He Listed the Late Paramount ruler of Nsit Ubium, HRH Edidem Robert James, the Vice Chairman of Nsit Ubium, and other Ibibio men as some of those the desperate Umana Okon Umana used his apparatus to kill.
According to him, `the said Umana also destroyed the ambitions of Hon Uwem Ita Etuk, BishopSam Akpan, Amb.Sam Edem, Senator Effiong Bob, Udoedehe, Hon. Iniekong Udoekong, Group Capt. Sam Enwang among other Ibibio sons
The University Don, urged the state governor Chief Godswill Akpabio to be focus, noting that, the entire Ibibio was in total support of his administration.
The group said that, it was a sign of victory as the entire Akwa Ibom people jubilated over the removal of Umana; pointing out that Umaa was a stumbling block to the people’s destiny.
In a related development, the entire civil servants in Akwa Ibom State are sending felicitation to the governor for sacking Mr. Umana whom they described as a hardened man who stalled the promotion and rise of several civil servant in the civil service
