INEC Ready for House of Representatives Election in Ekiti

Ekiti State will play host to eagle-eyed security and electoral agents this Saturday as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducts election rerun for the federal House of Representatives seat

representing Ekiti Central Federal Consistuency II.

 

According to INEC officials, electoral materials have arrived the state and ready to deploy for the elections. The state Police Commissioner Mr. Olayinka Balogun, who doubles as the Chairman of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee, also stated that his men were ready to ensure peace and order during the process.

Affected areas such as Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero Local Government Areas will be receiving additional security personal from neighboring states to ensure a hitch-free exercise. According to Mr. Balogun, movement in the stated locations would be restricted for the duration of the exercise

A Public Relations Officer of INEC in the state, Mr Taiwo Gbadegesin confirmed that the commission had received the materials for the election in the early hours of Friday, pointing out that they would be distributed to the three local government areas involved.
