Insecurity : Nasarawa Speaker meets 13 LG Chairmen to find lasting solutions.

“… lauds Gov. Sule’s efforts in tackling insecurity, promoting peace in the state…”

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has today Monday met with Chairmen of the 13 Local Government Areas of the State in order to find lasting solutions to security challenges experiencing across the State.

The Speaker while addressing the LG Chairmen in his office in Lafia said he was directed by Gov. Abdullahi Sule to discuss with the LG Chairmen on how to find lasting solutions to the security challenges facing their Local Government Areas.

” I was given the mandate by His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule when he called us for state security meeting on 15th of this month

” The insecurity challenges such as kidnapping, communal clashes, armed robbery among other social vices has increased recently

” Before now we have been enjoying relative peace in the state, I call on you for us to collectively discuss how to find solutions to security challenges in our areas,” he said.

The Speaker commended Gov. Sule for his proactiveness in tackling insecurity and promoting peace in the state.

” Gov. Abdullahi Sule is a man of peace and is working hard to ensure that people enjoy peace in the state.

” As no development will take place without peace ,” he said.

” Security is everybody business let put our heads together “

The Speaker called on the people of the state to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.

” Let’s all continue to live in peace and tolerate one another as God did not made a mistake of creating us irrespective of our tribes and religious backgrounds to live together ” he added

Jatau while sympathizing with the people of Katakpa and it’s surrounding in Toto LG over attack in their communities, appealed to trouble makers in Toto LGA to seize fire for peace to reign.

Responding, Hon Aminu Muazu Maifata, the State ALGON Chairman and Chairman Lafia LG appreciated the House for the good working relationship between them.

Maifata, who is also the ALGON National President appreciated Gov. Sule for always coming to the aid of the Local Government Areas in the State, especially in the area of insecurity.

” Rt. Hon Speaker, we are grateful for your support and guidance. We will not let you and the state down,” he said.

The ALGON Chairman said that security is capital intensive while calling for more security funding for the LGAs in the State.

Briefing journalists at the end of the meeting, member representing Doma South constituency and Chairman, House Committee on LG and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Musa Ibrahim Abubakar said that they have discussed extensively on the security situations in the 13 LGAs.

He added that by the grace of God, there would be improvement in the security situations in the LGAs across the State.

The Chairman called on the people to support the security agencies by providing useful information to them.
