The Nigeria Police Force, a law enforcement agency saddled with responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of the citizens and their property, on the 23rd August, 2025 at about 0500hrs, a gang of kidnappers armed with dangerous weapons invaded Kesan village, Shanga LGA of Kebbi State, and kidnapped one Abdulmumini Alhaji Ahmadu ‘m’ aged 25yrs.
Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Shanga, promptly mobilized a combined team of Policemen and vigilantes, trailed the kidnappers and rescued the victim. On the process, the unscrupulous elements shot the victim on his left leg, as a result of which he sustained serious injury and escaped into the forest.The police have evaquated the victim to a medical facility and he is responding to treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani reaffirmed the unwavering determination of the officers of the Command in the fight against violent crimes across the state, with a view to maintaining peace and stability.
The CP however, called on the Kebbi residents to be vigilant and support the police and other security agencies with vital, accurate and timely information, noting that partnership between the security agencies and citizens remained sacrosanct in combating criminality in the state.
