The Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), has described the Annual General Meeting, (AGM) organised by Alhaji Debo Ahmed as illegal and urged members of the association and other stakeholders to disregard it.
IPMAN in a press statement by Senior Special Adviser on Media to IPMAN, Alhaji Zakare Atiluku said that Alhaji Debo Ahmed is not in anyway the National President of IPMAN and cannot organise and preside over the Annual General Meeting of the association.
The Group added that Alhaji Debo Ahmed used to be the vice of Engineer Sanusi Abdu Fari, who was illegally parading himself as the National President of IPMAN before relinquishing leadership illegally to Alhaji Debo Ahmed, both of whom he described as products of illegality.
“Alhaji Debo Ahmed and his fellow travellers in illegality lack the power to organise any AGM after a judgment of a High Court sitting in
Ibadan removed him and former boss as leaders of IPMAN. The court unanimously declared Chief (Dr) Kolawole Adewoyin as the authentic National President of IPMAN. Any other person parading himself as IPMAN National President aside Chief (Dr) Kolawole Adewoyin is doing so illegally and must be arrested.
He added that Alhaji Debo Ahmed is not known to the law as the National President of IPMAN and that he is an impostor who is just deceiving some members of IPMAN, the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC), the leadership of NUPENG and some others who are not aware of the High Court judgment in Ibadan and the one pending in Abuja court.
“The only National President of IPMAN recognised by the law is Chief (Dr) Kolawole Adewoyin. The action of Alhaji Debo Ahmed is not only illegal but amounts to impersonation and
contempt of the court of law.
“We are using this medium to call on President Muhammadu Buhari, Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, the Director General of State Security Service, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, the leadership of NLC, the leadership of NUPENG, members of IPMAN and other stakeholders to disregard Alhaji Debo Ahmed as the National President of IPMAN.
