The battle for Kogi East senatorial seat between the incumbent Senator Attai Aidoko and AVM Isaac Alfa is far from over despite the court judgement which said AVM Alfa be sworn in as the senator representing the zone.
Briefing journalists at the Senate Wednesday, Senator Aidoko said the judgment of Federal High Court Abuja delivered by Just Gabriel Kolawole was not “enforceable” because the judgment asked the clerk to swear in AVM Alfa instead of the Senate President who is the only officer with that power.
In addition to this Aidoko said said he has filed notice of appeal at the Court of Appeal and “stay of execution” pending the determination of the appeal.
Sharp edgenews rliably gathered that AVM Alfa was in the Senate premises Tuesday morning armed with the court judgement, INEC certificate of return hoping to be sworn in but went away disappointed.
