GOVERNOR Idris Wada of Kogi State has been seriously injured in an auto crash today. Unconfirmed reports said Wada may be in coma at the local Federal Medical Center in the state where he was rushed to after the accident.
According to sources, the governor and his convoy were returning from an official assignment when the accident occurred near the confluence city of Lokoja.
The governor’s Aide-de-Camp was said to have died at the scene of the accident, along with another driver who also died on the spot.
The latest incident occurs barely two weeks after Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa died along with former National Security Adviser, retired General Andrew Azazi, and four others in a fatal naval helicopter crash in Bayelsa State.
The state of health of yet another governor, Danbaba Suntai of Yobe State, remains sketchy, after his involvement in a deadly crash in October, bringing number of governors currently receiving care outside of the country to two.
