Kuje Labour Party councillorship candidate promises basic infrastructure

Comrade Fanimi Oluwabusayo, popularly called BIGGY the councillorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for Gaube Ward, Kuje Area Council, FCT, has promised to give priority to education and basic infrastructures if elected.

BIGGY who made the call in an interview with Newsmen in Kuje, promised to be accountable and responsive to the needs of the people with priority to education and infrastructures.

According to him, education is the foundation and key to all human development, adding that he would also intensify on poverty alleviation programmmes with specific focus on youth employment and empowerment.

“No nation develops without a very sound and solid educational policy and programmes because education develops the total man.

“I am also believing that if we give our people real and solid education and opportunity for empowerment; especially empowerment that is linked to agricultural development, then we will make our people self-sufficient.

“People can never develop without a solid foundation in education, and that is why I am coming, and really prepared to give my people the real education programme that will develop the area,” he said.

The candidate also said there was need for every administration to initiate policies and programmes that would stimulate economic growth and development as well as job creation for the youths in the country.

However, he expressed confidence of clinching the ticket of the Labour Party if given the enormous goodwill of the electorates, saying that he would create policies that would enhance youth development in the council.

“We all know that the future belongs to the youths who are ingenious, innovative and industrious, they are also the bedrock for development if empowered.

“I want to also state that if given the opportunity to serve, I will be accountable and responsive to the problems confronting the people in the area,” he said.

He said he would not only increase youth empowerment, but will also ensure rapid development of the area if elected, among other programmes within the period of his administration. (NAN)
