The Minister of Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and stakeholders in sports federation will meet in Asaba from tomorrow Thursday 5th to Friday 6th to deliberate on Nigeria’s industrial sports policy in 2021.
The ministry said in an effort to ensure a successful end of year sporting activities, it will be holding it’s National Council on Sports meeting to strategically plan for upcoming events.
The meeting is scheduled to hold at the Unity Hall, Government House, Delta State from Thursday, the 5th to the 6th of November.
In a statement made available to SHARPEDGENEWS, it said: “The meeting shall deliberate on the sport industry policy, the 20th national sports festival and the national principal cup and national headmasters cup with consideration memorandums from states.”
The Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa shall grace the opening session that will have the Minister, Mr Sunday Dare, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Gabriel Aduda, President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Habu Gumel, Commissioners, Chairmen of State Sports Council, Directors of Sports, Presidents of Sports Federations and Major Stakeholders in attendance.
The meeting is expected to be in two sessions, a technical session to be chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Gabriel Aduda on day one while the other session on day two shall be chaired by the Minister, Mr Sunday Dare where presentation of report and recommendations of the technical session shall be made during plenary.
The National Council meeting on Sports hopes to achieve far reaching decisions that will promote sporting activities that will impact positively on the Nigerian youth to become self sufficient in no distant future.
