N17m Scam: EFCC Set to Arraign Kaduna House of Assembly Speaker, 2 Others

MATO Dogara, the deputy speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and former Chairman of Lere Local Government will be arraigned on Monday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over an alleged N17million scam.

This revelation is contained in a statement by EFCC spokesperson, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, on Sunday in Lagos. It stated that Dogara will be arraigned before a Federal High Court in Kaduna.

According to the statement, the suspect would be arraigned alongside two others, Kabiru Malali and Ahmed Yahaya, former chairman and treasurer of Lere Local Government of the state respectively.

The statement said the suspects would be arraigned on a six-count charge, including contract over invoicing and criminal diversion of funds.

“Dogara is a former Chairman of Lere Local Government and
had also served as commissioner in the state,” the statement stated.
