Nacabs Polytechnic, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, on Thursday, has matriculated 672 National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) 1 students for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The institution restated its firm stance against cultism and related social vices.
Mr Mandy David-Abuluya, the Founder of the institution stated this during the 13th matriculation ceremony of the institution for 2024/ 2025 academic session in Akwanga LGA today.
Abuluya, represented by the Deputy Rector of the Institution, Barr Agbutun David Abuluya said that 86 per cent of the school were on scholarship.
“” I have decided to offer scholarships to the students to enable them to have access to education.
” This year, through the Nacabs Polytechnic Scholarship Scheme, we have extended educational opportunities to several indigent and less privileged students.
” This intervention reflects our core belief that quality education should not be the exclusive privilege of a few, but a right accessible to all, who are willing to learn and grow,” he said.
Abuluya, who is the President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA) Worldwide said that the school in years has witnessed tremendous growth and purposeful transformation.
” We have spared no effort in reinforcing the institutional foundations upon which our vision stands across every ramification academic, infrastructural, technological, administrative, and ethical
” We have intensified our pursuit of excellence, and the results are visibly evident.
” We have made strategic investments in physical and digital infrastructure, These facilities reflect our unwavering
belief in access to knowledge as a fundamental right and a catalyst for nation-building,” he said.
Abuluya, the Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee ( PCRC) said that the school has migrated to a digital education framework.
” Today, our students are able to participate in online classes, while our faculty can administer assessments—including Computer-Based Tests (CBTs) in a seamless and tech-enabled environment,” he added
According to him, We have also upheld a firm stance against cultism and related social vices. Our anti-cultism
measures are well-structured and actively enforced.
” We are committed to fostering a campus culture that upholds discipline, dignity, mutual respect, and ethical behaviour because the true
purpose of education is not only to enlighten the mind but also to build character,” he said.
Mr Timothy Audu Maikori, the Rector of the polytechnic, congratulated the matriculated and urged them to be hard working in order to excel in life.
” I am glad to inform you that our Electrical and Electronic Department is still offering Solar Electrical Services ( Installation and Maintenance) to our immediate community as well as willing patronizes beyond here.
” Today, we are matriculating 672 students including HND, ” he said.
He appreciated the Proprietor for establishing scholarship scheme to ameliorate the hardship being faced by parents.
On his part, Mr Usman Oga, the Registrar of the Polytechnics while Administering the Oath of matriculation on the students, urged the new students to abide by the oath in their interest and for the overall development of the education sector.
Ogah urged the students to abide by all the school’s rules and regulations, adding that any students caught violating the school’s rules would be punished accordingly.
In his good will message, Mr Yusuf Aliyu Chunbaya ( PDP) member representing Akwanga South Constituency at the state legislature among others commended Abuluya for establishing the institution and scholarship scheme for the indigent students.
He assured of his support and collaboration.
