NAF Trainer Aircraft Force-land in Kaduna

… As Student Pilot Onboard Survives Crash

A diamond trainer aircraft of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has made a force landing at outskirts Kaduna

with a student pilot onboard undergoing a solo training mission.

The mission according to NAF authorities was part of flying training at the 401 Flying Training School, Kaduna.

The incident, which took place today, 19 March 2018, was said to be as a result of an airborne emergency that could not enable the pilot fly the aircraft back to the Base.

The pilot was left with no option than to force landed the aircraft though with minimal damage to it.

However, the student pilot, who on board, suffered minor injuries and is already receiving treatment at the 461 Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Kaduna, according to a press release by the Director of NAF information, Air Vice Marshal Olatokunbo Adesanya.

Accordingly, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has immediately directed the constitution of a board of inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident while efforts are ongoing to recover the aircraft.
