The National Assembly has passed the 2017 appropriation bill into law after much delay that held up the document for five months.
Earlier the House of Representatives passed the 2017 budget in the green chambers.
The lower house of legislature adopted the report by its House committee on appropriation and approved a total sum of ₦7. 44 trillion.
President Buhari presented the budget to a joint session of the National Assembly in December 2016.
After an executive session that lasted almost an hour, the senate on its part, considered the report by its own appropriations committee led by Senator Danjuma Goje. The Senate dissolved into the Committee of Supply to consider the report clause by clause and passed the budget. The Senate’s official handle confirmed the development.
