By Joan Nwagwu

The leadership of the National Association of Polytechnics Students (NAPS) said it has partnered Domak Group International for land and housing Investment scheme for students and youths across the country.

Mr Opeyemi Ridwan, President of NAPS said this at a news conference on Friday in Abuja.

Ridwan said that the partnership was to encourage students, youths to own their houses or lands due to high cost of accommodation and occupancy of a house.

According to him, this lack of affordable housing options has forced many people to rent rather than purchase a home.

“Haven X-rayed the whole situation and most of the challenges facing students and youths in this country to own a land and house.

“We discovered that what people need is enlightenment, financial literacy programs and understanding the home and land buying process and available resources.

“It’s on this note, that the leadership of NAPS is coming with an initiative ideas to partner with Domak Group International, where all interested students and Youths can own a piece of land in their respective state including FCT.

“Furthermore the initiative is so easier for even the poorest among the poor can be a land owner with just N350 per day for just three years,”he said.

He added that, in lieu of this, NAPS is calling on the attention of Polytechnics students and youths generally to invest in their future by owning a piece of land from Domak Youths and students land and Housing Investment Scheme.

Ridwan noted it was imperative for the students, youths in the country as over the years, there have been significant shifts in home and land ownership patterns that have had a profound impact on society.

He noted that some parents’ generation benefited from economic prosperity and government programs that promoted home and land ownership in the past.

“In contrast, this generation, has faced several challenges in achieving home and land ownership due to factors such as rising housing costs, land disputes, access to affordable housing, mortgage rates, and income inequality, among others

“The increasing wealth gap has created barriers to owning a home, especially for those with limited financial resources.

“The availability of affordable housing is another critical factor influencing home and land ownership trends,”he added.
