Navy reshuffles 57 senior officers

The Nigerian Navy has undertaken a reshuffling of senior officers within its ranks. A total of 56 rear admirals and one commodore have been affected by the reshuffle. The Director of Information, Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, announced the changes on Thursday.

Among the notable appointments, Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole has been appointed as the Chief of Communications and Information Technology at Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Alexander Bingel has been named the Director of Logistics at Defence Headquarters, moving from his previous position as Director Combat Policy and Tactics.

Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, previously the Director of Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate at Naval Headquarters, has become the Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation at Defence Headquarters. Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete, formerly the Director of Project Monitoring at Defence Headquarters, has taken over as the Chief of Administration at Naval Headquarters.

Rear Admiral Livingstone Izu, who previously served as the Director of Manning at Naval Headquarters, has been appointed as the Chief of Logistics at Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Musa Madugu, previously the Deputy Director Special Operation Forces at Defence Headquarters, has been appointed as the Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordinance Depot.

Overall, these changes aim to streamline the leadership structure and enhance organizational effectiveness within the Nigerian Navy.

Also, Rear Admiral Daupreye Matthew, the erstwhile Director of Innovation and Concept Development, at Naval Headquarters is now the Director of Training, Defence Headquarters while Rear Admiral Zakariya Muhammad, the former Director of Training, Naval Headquarters has been reappointed Chief of Training and Operations.

Similarly, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Nmoyem has been reappointed as Director Human Rights Desks at the Defence Headquarters while Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima formerly Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command moves to Defence Headquarters as Director of Plans.

The former Director of Plans, Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere has been appointed the Chief of Defence Administration at the Defence Headquarters while Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje who was the Director of Equipment Standardization and Harmonization, Defence Headquarters has been appointed Group Managing Director, Navy Holdings Limited among others.
