NBA Vice-Chairman Tasks FG on Investment in Youths, Education

Ebosetale David Aigbefoh Esq, Notary Public and Vice Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Gwagwalada Branch, FCT, Abuja, has called on the Federal Government to invest more in the youths and the educational system for National Development.

Aigbefoh made the call, during the “INTERNATIONAL MERIT AWARDS 2021″ and ” INTERNATIONAL MEDAL OF HONOUR” presented to him For his relentless support of “Child Education, Community Empowerment and Grassroots security for a safer Society”

The programmes which held on December 2, 2021 at the symposium on National Skills Acquisition And Empowerment Programme, was under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Education.

The NBA Vice Chairman noted that the earlier the country began to prepare by investing in the youths and the Educational system, the better it is to realising the potential in the country.

He revealed that, the United Nation (UN) projects that Nigeria’s population would double in size by 2030, and only a competitive and sound economy could help achieve a rising standard of living.

“This is in-line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which recognises that young women and men are critical agents of change in the society.

“Young people generally represent the future and are strategic in building social cohesion, economic prosperity and political stability of the nation.

“By this, every knowledge gained in the process of education enables one to realise his role religiously, politically, culturally, socially and economically.

“It is a process that endows individuals with abilities to see things from the right perspective.

“For the desired impact of this large segment of our population to be harnessed, there is need for support and encouragement through education, enlightenment and Empowerment for National Development,” he said.

He noted that the Nigerian government needed to start implementing policies and making an investment in youths and in the right places to cater for an additional 250 million to help in reducing poverty.

However, he maintained that the government has a huge role to play in the area of building infrastructure to increase Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for economic productivity and prosperity of the country.

Meanwhile, he advised the youths to organise themselves to meet the challenges of a positive and meaningful role in the efforts of national growth and development through acquisition of relevant skills and functional education. (NAN)
