NBC May Revoke Tinubu’s License to Operate Adaba FM

There is a developing story out of Ondo State that the radio station owned and operated by former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Adaba F.M. may soon have its license revoked for trying to incite a wave of violence and unnecessary political tension in the state.

According to sources in Akure, the radio station which was originally constructed and later sold to Bola Tinubu by Senator Bode Olajumoke, allegedly hires freelance presenters who cook-up reports and outright falsehood on the activities of Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

Sharpedgenews.com learned that a well-known “trouble0maker” in the locality, one Mr. Femi Johnson, who allegedly ran a Killer Squad in the state was recently brought to the station and falsified data on the visible infrastructural developments going on everywhere in the state. He was said to have stated that in his Ikale/Ileje dialect that the people of Igbokoda should be ready to shed blood in order to remove Mimiko. Femi Johnson, who was an operative for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), allegedly uses a nebulous group, the Sunshine Liberation Front (SLF), to disseminate falsehood and misinformation on weekly basis.

Also, a well known Ekiti-born local broadcaster allegedly produced jingle in which he allegedly hides inciting innuendos on how the governor conned his way into office and has now became uncontrollable for “the larger interest of the Yoruba”.

History of violence and jungle killings in Nigerian elections makes the messages from Adaba FM the type that Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) cannot allow to go on without censorship and utmost restraint.  According to investigations, the last time such messages were allowed to go in the name of jounalism, through the Peoples News published by Mr. Niyi Oniororo, the state went up in flames as many prominent sons and daughters of Ondo were roasted alive. And indeed, according to findings, there is nothing called the “larger Yoruba interest”. It is about the agenda of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). Indigenes of Ondo State told sharpedgenews.com that the South West cannot be allowed to become a one party regional dictatorship.  They also expressed satisfaction with the way Governor Mimiko has tackled infrastructure projects on several fronts and institutionalized enduring socio-economic transformation in education, public works, healthcare and community peaceful co-habitation.

A former school teacher, who said that she benefited from the N1.4 billion pension payments made by Governor Mimiko, although pleading that her name should not be published for personal safety reasons, explained that if Mimiko had entered into any agreement with Tinubu, he would have been impossible to accomplish any meaningful transformation in Ondo State.

She said that if the NBC does not caution Adaba FM on its dangerous rhetoric, “the people of Ondo State know how to deal with such situations”. Sharpedgenews.com has also been told that Tinubu and his ACN are not sincere and committed to the agenda of peace and unity in Yorubaland. The example of how the leader of Afenifere, Chief Reuben F. Fashoranti is often disrespected by the ACN does not recommend the party in Ondo State.  A well-known community organizer, Eshe Mojibola, said that people like Tinubu do not remember Ondo State in influential positions when talking about Yorubland, “as a matter of fact, the call us ‘Ara Oke’ and mock us. But when they want to start burning homes and destabilize, they come with dubious talk of Yoruba unity.”
