The National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) has urged the Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Giri, on gender inclusiveness in his administration.
Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, the National President of NCWS, gave the task during a visit to the chairman’s office in Gwagwalada, FCT.
Lau while ommending the chairman on his victory and commitment to carry the people along, said women were bridge builders, hence the need for an all inclusive gender policy.
According to her, the chairman will transform and take the people to enviable height, working together with the women.
“NCWS Nigeria is the umbrella body of all women organisations in Nigeria with branches in all the 36 states, 774 Local Governments Areas, including FCT.
“NCWS in collaboration with Global Entral Hub is organising a national training programme for vulnerable women on different skills acquisitions and empowerment.
“Our visit is to unveil the training package that is put together to uplift the livelihood of an average women in Gwagwalada Area Council,” she said.
Lau also solicited the chairman’s permission to unveil the training package to the council for thorough scrutiny and validation before its final approval.
Responding, Giri appreciated the group for the visit and promised to keep the women and youths busy through various empowerment programmes.
He reiterated the fact that empowering women was empowering the nation, promising to key into the agricultural training package for women and youths in the area. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
