NDDC: Effiong Akwa Takes Over From IMC as Interim Administrator

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa as the Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission taking over from the Interim Management Committee.

According to the press statement signed by Femi Adesina, Akwa who until the appointment was the Acting Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Commission, is to be in office for the duration of the forensic audit.

Akwa, a chartered accountant and lawyer, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria(ICAN) and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Adesina explained that “the development became necessary as a result of plethora of litigation and a restraining order issued recently against the Interim Management Committee of the Commission by a Federal High Court in Abuja.”
