NGF Now a Toothless Bulldog – Wike

By Dayo Omoogun

The Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, has lashed out at the Nigerian Governors’ Forum for failing to protect the interest of its members,

saying it had become a mere toothless bulldog that can only bark but not bite.

He was speaking when Godwin Obaseki, the estranged Edo State Governor, went on a visit to him in his ongoing effort to find a safe landing in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he hopes to actualize his second term ambition following his disqualification by his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), few days ago.
Wike expressed anger at the body’s failure to put in a word for the embattled Obaseki in the face of his travails.

The governor used the opportunity to throw a jibe at the APC National Chairman saying that how can someone who has no certificate be questioning the veracity of the certificate of another man. He added that he had earlier, on another occasion, called on Oshiomole to “practice what you preach.”
Wike assured that his party, PDP, would be ready and willing to welcome Obaseki into its fold.
