Nigeria @62: SWAGGA Tasks Party Supporters on Peaceful Campaigns

Swift Action For Good Governance and Alliance (SWAGGA), an NGO, have called on party supporters for a peaceful conduct during the campaigns of their respective candidates ahead of the 2023 General elections in the country.

Mr Oliver Thompson, the National Charman of SWAGGA made the call in an press statement issued to newsmen by the Publicity Secretary- Enuma Ikemefuna Charles in Abuja.

The SWAGGA President said the campaign was not a do or die affair, rather an avenue to market and sell
there candidates to enable them win the elections.

Thompson also advised youths in the country to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC), to vote credible leaders of their choice during the 2023 general elections.

According to him, obtaining the PVC is an important civic responsibility, as such, only the PVC would give the youths power to elect leaders of their choice.

He also advised them not to engage in any form of malpractice during the General Elections, but serve as agents of positive change for democracy to thrive in the country.

“The youths should ensure they collect their Permanent Voter Cards and follow all the electoral laws by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“I urge the youths to remain law abiding citizens for a peaceful and credible election, they should also shun violence and remain resolute during throughout the campaigns.

“The attainment of a good election is dependent on full cooperation and support of the youths, and avoiding any form of violence during election,” he added.

However, he maintained that the youths should not allow the current situation in the country to discourage them from coming out to vote, adding that voter apathy was a threat to good governance. (NAN)
