The Nigerian Government and Italy are discussing areas of mutual interest to both countries regarding solid minerals development.
The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi said this when he received the Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Fulvio Rustico who paid him a courtesy visit.
The Italian Ambassador, while congratulating the Minister on the assumption of office said that Nigeria and Italy have an excellent relations and that Nigeria is the second largest trading partner to Italy in Africa.
He said that Italy looks forward to having a closer relation with Nigeria, in all field and that minerals which is one of the top priority of government is top on the list.
He added that areas of cooperation between Nigeria and Italian companies/entrepreneurs would be discussed as well. The Ambassador remarked that Nigeria is a rich country with huge possibilities and that this” talking together” will open discussion on new horizon.
Also in attendance to receive the Ambassador was the Minister of State for Solid Minerals Development, Hon. Abubakar Bawa Bwari.
