The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has appointed DCP Don Awunah as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) to replace ACP Olabisi
Kolawole, who was the FPRO from August 2015 to June 2016.
According to a statement issued by the Administrative Officer by the Force Public Relations Department, SP Murtala Bello, Awunah, a seasoned and thoroughbred officer, was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Homicide Section of Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID), Abuja until his new assignment.
The statement added that he holds B A degree in Philosophy from the University of Lagos and M A in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Benue State University, Makurdi. “He is a Fellow, Institute of Security Studies, Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration and Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).”
Meanwhile, Kolawole urged the media and members of the public to extend maximum cooperation to the new police spokesperson, just as Awunah promised to work towards increasing the tempo of a good relationship between the police and other Nigerians in line with the policy thrust of the Nigeria Police.
