The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has barred airlines operating in the country from carrying Apple Macbook Pro on their flights.
According to the regulator, the product brand or model: Retina, 15 Mid 2015 had been recalled by the manufacturer due to battery problem.
To prevent accident during flight, NCAA, said the computer brand can become a risk to aviation safety due to overheating that may emanate from the battery.
Captain Abdullahi Sidi, who is Director, Operations and Training of the agency in a signed statement made available to the media during the weekend, said:
“This is to inform all operators and service providers that the carriage of Macbook Pro Model: Retina, 15 MID 2015, with immediate effect is hereby barred on all flights.”
