Nigeria@61: Ebira Women Group tasks Nigerians on peaceful coexistence

Support for Ebira Women and Girl-Child Initiative (SEWGCI) a Non-Governmental Organisation, has called for peaceful coexistence, love and unity among Nigerians for sustainable development of the country.

Hajia Aminat Daniya Hamza, the President and Founder of the organisation made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja to commemorate Nigeria at 61 independence.

She said every citizen should have a sense of belonging wherever they found themselves, adding that peaceful co-existence is necessary for nation building.

“As we celebrate our nation’s independence day, let’s remember our past leaders who lost their lives in the battle for the freedom we are enjoying today.

“The colours of the Nigerian flag makes my heart beat with pride, the green, white, green spread great joy and happiness.

“As patriotic citizens, let’s put extra effort to perform our own civic rights and responsibilities, our diversities should not be seen as a weakness but as our strength,” she said.

According to her, meaningful development could only be achieved in an atmosphere of love, peace and unity.

Hajia Aminat also called on political office holders to reflect on issues bordering on corruption, joblessness and ways of avoiding violence to promote stability and development.

“May the reason for this independence be never forgotten. We will remain united forever, It is only by working together that we can build a resilience nation.

“Let all our politicians rise to the great task of building social trust between the people and the nation, by so doing, we can have peace and stability in our country.

“From All Of at Support For Ebira Women and Girl Child Initiatives We joined the rest of the World to Celebrate Nigeria at 61,” she said.
