The Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Chartered, University of Abuja Chapter, has called on its members to promote the ideals of management practice and discipline for the development of the country.
The President and Chairman of the Institute, Mrs Patience Anabor, made the call at the inauguration of NIM members at the University of Abuja, Gwagwalada on Wednesday.
According to her, transparency, rule of law, diligence, ideals of good practices and discipline is an origin of management excellence in the institute.
“They should practice what we preach and they should ensure that they obey the institutes steps and values and practice it.
“If we catch any corrupt member, we are at liberty to delist the member and we have done so by delisting some corrupt bankers in the country.
“We are not afraid to sanction our members and in that way we intend to keep and respect our constitution, practice and layer down procedures,” she said.
However, she said the institute had been doing its best to preach about transparency, rule of law, discipline and best practice to both members and non-members in the country.
The Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Prof Abdullrasheed Na’Allah, represented by Dr Abubakar Aliyu, urged the members to obey the laid down rules and regulations for the development of the country.
Na’Allah, also urged the members to build the culture of discipline and service to Nigeria and upgrade their service to the society for national development. (NAN)
