Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has described claim by the State governor, Dr. KayodeFayemi that 80 percent of the roads projects embarked upon by his predecessors were abandoned as “another lie from Fayemi’s bag of falsehood.”
Fayemi had said in newspaper interview that; “Over 80 percent of the roads that were started by our predecessors were abandoned as at the time we came into office.” Reacting, Oni’s Media Aide, Mr. LereOlayinka, said “no amount of face-saving propaganda can erase the fact that over 400 kilometres of road were initiated and completed by the Oni-led government while over 500 kilometres were ongoing before Fayemi was judicially imposed on Ekiti.”
He said; “By now, governance in Ekiti should no longer be about whatFayemi’s predecessor did or failed to do, but about what the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) government in the State has done, or doing.
Unfortunately, governance in Ekiti is still about what will be done, not what has been done or what is being done.”Olayinka, who said Fayemi has in the last two weeks lived up to his credential asa“pathological liar” said the governor’s claim that he met abandoned road projects and that communities that have never seen water in the State now have water because his government had constructed dams was the third major lies he told in the last two weeks.
He said; “Last week, Fayemi lied that he had never set his eyes on the suspended President Court of Appeal, Justice Isa Ayo Salami, even when he (Fayemi) was present at the Court of Appeal, Ilorin during the adoption of addresses on the appeal case that brought him to power. Again, the governor said he had paid members of the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) and other commissions and boards that he sacked illegally, when it is a fact that he is yet to comply with the Appeal Court judgment, which ordered the payment of Chairman and members of the Local Government Service Commission.
“For the avoidance of doubt, completed, ongoing or abandoned road projects are not something that cannot be seen.

“Or is Fayemi also saying the 19.00km Ado – Iworoko – IfakiDualization, on which all earth works and drainages had been completed before he became governor was also abandoned?” On provision of water, Olayinka said “may be Fayemi was referring tothe flood that took over the streets of Ado-Ekitilast week, because Ekiti people know they have not been getting water since Fayemi, out of vendetta sent concessionaires away from Ero, Ureje and Itapaji dams.”
