“I READ in the newspaper yesterday that I am divorced. What proof do you have? And I am taking this to court
because my marriage is intact. You guys are rumor mongers.”
Those were the words of Nollywood sensation Funke Akindele in response to recent reports in the media about her separation from her husband of 14 months, Kehinde Oloyede, which Akindele is now alleging to be false.
Reports of Akindele’s supposed separation from her husband gained traction earlier in the week after a few online bloggers and social media sources claimed that the Nollywood star’s husband had posted of the said separation on his Facebook page.
Although sharpedgenews.com did quote the said sources, it expressed reservations about the authenticity of the report of the separation, even after it noted that one of the sources claimed to have contacted Ms. Akindele’s publicist, who confirmed the report of the separation.
Mr. Oloyede, Ms. Akindele’s husband, was alleged to have written: “It is with heavy heart that I am announcing the separation of me and my wife, Mrs Olufunke Akindele. We have both agreed to go our separate ways because of irreconcilable differences. We are still best of friends and we would forever remain good friends.”
The silence from Funke’s camp after the story went viral further fuelled the rumor with mixed reactions pouring in from her fans. Mrs Muhammed who is the actress’ elder sister and also doubles as her spokesperson has however denied ever confirming the alleged break-up to anybody.
While the Nollywood actress has come out to deny what she says are rumors of her separation, there has been no word from her husband, Mr. Kehinde Oladele.
