Dr Mohammed Danjuma, the Federal Government Coordinator of the North-East Recovery and Stability Programme, has been honoured with the ‘Nigerian Humanitarian Action (NIHA) Excellence Award’.
Danjuma received the World Humanitarian Day Honour Award in the category of development excellence for his instrumental role in the North-East Recovery and Sustainability Programme in Abuja.
Dr Kletsaint Akor, the Chief Humanitarian Officer of NIHA, said Danjuma’s remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment to the North-East Recovery and Sustainability Programme brought positive changes to the region.
He said that the award was well deserving due to the recipient’s tireless efforts, saying, “he is a shining example of the spirit of humanitarianism and development.”
Responding, Danjuma said he was touched by being found worthy of the prestigious award, adding that his contributions were just a drop in the ocean of need.
“I am actually humbled to have been found worthy of even receiving any award in this regard.
“The award really means a lot not just to me and my family, but to all of my colleagues in this office because the work we do here is teamwork.
“So, whatever it is that is being projected as excellence from this office is as a result of our collective teamwork,’’ he said.
