October 20 Election: Aregbesola sponsors fugitive Iwo cleric to wreak havoc in Ondo-Group

Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola has hired the services of an Iwo fiery cleric, Shiek Dauda who is currently on the run from Security operatives to wreak havoc in Ondo State by planting fetish
substances in major towns in Ondo State, the Mimiko Campaign Organisation (MCO) alleged on Sunday.

Specifically, the Organisation disclosed that Aregbesola, who is the arrowhead of the onslaught against the Olusegun Mimiko administration and had in recent times publicly vowed to capture Ondo State for his Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), contacted the Iwo  born Moslem cleric who is reputed to be behind the training of some Moslem hard men in Osun State to carry out several nocturnal sacrifices in Ondo, Owo, Ikare, Akure and Okitipupa  with a view to turning the hearts of the people of the State against Governor Mimiko spiritually.

The fetish sacrifices for which the cleric had been paid a whopping N25million are to be carried out on or before September 10, this year, barely a month to the October 20 Governor ship election in the State.
Dauda, who variously goes by appellations such as Abdulkaq, Ajagbemokeferi, is a leader of a notorious Moslem sect in Iwo and he was fingered in the secret training of some of his members for the alleged secession bid of Aregbesola in Osun State, a development which made him to be on the wanted list of security operatives.

He was recently said to have published a book on the Al-Quaeda connection and has since gone underground.

MCO in a release issued by its Director of Publicity and Media  Relations, Mr Kolawole Olabisi, stated that this was one of the latest in the desperation of the ACN leadership to take over Ondo State at
all cost. It therefore called for vigilance by the people of the State residing in Ondo, Owo, Ikare, Okitipupa, and Akure towns especially at night saying they must report to the security operatives all strange movements in their areas.

Says Olabisi: “We are aware of the various underhand deals by these desperate politicians in their avowed but futile bid to rule Ondo State: first was the introduction of an unprecedented level of violence in the State ostensibly to cow the people and scare them to submission before the election, next was the numerous campaigns of calumny against the person of Dr Olusegun Mimiko. And when these failed, they have resorted to spiritual warfare, resorting to sacrifices of fetish objects which they want to bury in major towns in the State to bind the mind of the people against their beloved Governor who has taken the State to heights hitherto unimagined in the State.”

“But we want to remind them that those who embarked on this sort of journey between 2006 and 2009 failed woefully and we want to assure Aregbesola and his ilk that they will fail again because we served the true Living God in Ondo State.”

The MCO further alleged that it was aware that the same group had also contacted a notorious gang in Igboho town in Oyo State to foment trouble in Ondo State in areas where they feel Dr Mimiko would have the upper hand before and during election.

According to its spokesperson: “we are abreast of all that they have been planning against the good people of Ondo State, rather than embark on campaigns of issues and lay bare their manifestoes before
the people, they have been disparaging the unassailable personality of Mimiko and now that they could not even perfect their nomination papers before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),
they want to import voodoo and thugs into Ondo State to win at all cost. Their plans won’t work by the grace of God.

“But let us warn that as a government, we are aware of all their moves and we have briefed the security operatives in the State. We want to assure them that if they dare venture into our State, which has
enjoyed an uninterrupted peace in the last three and a half years, they will meet their Waterloo as we are fully prepared for them. Our advice for the Sheikh Daudas of this world and their sponsors is that:
Never again would Ondo State be a cauldron of violence and Ondo State people will neither bow nor worship on the altar of any foreign god.”
