ODCSDA: Committed To Increased Access of The Poor To Social Infrastructure

– Over Hundred Communities Benefited In Ondo State

The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko established the Ondo State Community and Social Development Agency  (ODCSDA)putting the state

in the list of the participating states having fulfilled qualifying  conditions for participation.

 

This is in fulfillment of his electioneering campaign to work for the people of the state.

Following the Development, the Agency swung into action by organizing various trainings forStakeholders with relevant skills to ensure competence in the delivery of Community and Social Development Project objectives.

This signaled a start for the Agency whose vision is to support empowerment of the Community and Local Government Authority for increased access of the poor people to improved social and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

And as the Officials of the Agency moved into various assisting the Community participatory rural appraisal which culminated in the various grays identifying their priority projects with Vulnerable Group Project as the first priority project to be executed.

Twoyears down the line over 59 Composite Communities, comprising of estimated 250 Rural Communities have been facilitated in 9 Local

Government Areas of the State.

Some of the projects are: Construction of Bridge and Culvert and Grading of Rural Access Roads, Building of Blocks of Classrooms, Basic Health Centers which are to be adopted for the Abiye Save Motherhood Programme of the Present Administration in the State,Construction of Neighborhood Markets, Community Electrification and Installation of Transformers, Skill Acquisition Centre with Modern State-of-earth facilities.

All these are clear indications that the Government of Ondo State’s desire to change the face of the rural areas are beginning to materialize.
