OIC Chairman Survives Assassins’ Bullets

The Chairman of Oodua Investment Company Limited (OIC), Chief Sarafadeen Ali at the weekend narrowly escaped death as persons believed to be contract killers attacked him on his way to a political meeting in Ibadan.

The Chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria we gathered managed to escape his assailants but was wounded in the process.

Chief Ali who served as Secretary to the Oyo State government under the governorship of Senator Rasheed Ladoja had to be rushed to University College Hospital in Ibadan for gun wound treatment. As at the time of filling this report about 16 pellets had been removed from his body by a combined medical team of doctors from the Nigerian premier health institution.

The motive of the attack is still unknown but sources said it has political undertone. It would be recalled that in April this year Sarafadeen Ali equally escaped an attempt on his life, making this the third time he has been escaped similar attacks.

One such incident happened at his Bodija Estate residence where unknown gunmen opened fire.
