Ojukwu’s Widow, Bianca, Returns to Nigeria from London

WIDOW of the former leader of the defunct Biafran Republic, Bianca Ojukwu, arrived returned to Nigeria on Tuesday, about 10 days after the death of her husband, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

 

Bianca, who arrived through the Enugu airport was dressed in black mourning outfit. She arrived at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport at about 6.00 p.m. local time, accompanied by the National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Umeh, and was received on arrival by the  wife of Anambra State governor, Mrs. Margret Obi.

At the airport also were the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Princess Chinwe Nwebili and several APGA women and other groups.

The former beauty queen declined prodding for comments by reporters who thronged the airport to witness her return.

But Umeh, who spoke shortly before the entourage left the airport for Ojukwu’s Enugu residence, said that burial plans would now commence proper, stressing that the remains of Ikemba will return to the country towards the end of January next year for necessary burial rites to commence.
