Olugbesan Family Land: Estate Firm Boss Tackles Ex-Oyo Deputy Governor, Hazeem Gbolarunmi, Describes Him As A ‘Pathological Liar That Has Bitten The Finger That Once Fed Him’

The Chief Executive Officer of Mich Royal Company Nigeria Limited, Prince Gbolagade Adeyemi has described as baseless the allegations levelled against him and his company by former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarunmi that he sold Olugbesan Family’s and didn’t remit all the monies into his account.

Prince Adeyemi in a press release said that he has gone through the publications in which Mr Hazeem Gbolarunmi made the false allegations against him and was not in anyway surprised because according to him Gbolarumi is a ‘Pathological Liar’ that usually bite hands of those who have at one time or the other assisted him in life.

“Ordinarily, I would have not glorified Mr Gbolarunmi with a reply, if not clarity and also for the purpose of setting the records straight.”

To start with, Gbolarunmi in the said publications said that Olugbesan family did not apologise to me and he later shot himself in the foot by concluding that those that wrote the letter of apology to me were not known to him. That shows the extent at which Mr Gbolarunmi could be so very untruthful. His remark on this is not only laughable but very sad that such careless statement is coming from somebody who they once regarded as their Mogaji. It is so funny that Mr Gbolarumi described the legimate members of the family-Labisi- Durosomo Olugbesan as unknown to him.

“In order to set the record straight, the reason why the Family decided to write a letter of apology to my humble self and Mich Royal Company Nigeria Limited is based on the initial allegations levelled against me by the family. They were misinformed by this same Gbolarumi that I was selling their family land illegally without remitting money into their account. Upon investigation by the family and which I equally made myself available, I presented proof that I Gbolagade Adeyemi did not sell any of their lands illegally. I remitted all monies from the sales of the land to the person I once knew as their Mogaji.

I’m talking about Hazeem Gbolarunmi. It was Gbolarumi and the Secretary of the family, Alhaji Sule that issued and signed an irrevocable Power Attorney to me when they wanted to take over the land. The late elder in the family, Baba Durosomo was also aware of the agreement. All monies realised from the sales of the land were remmitted into personal account of Hazeem Gbolarunmi, who was their Mogaji at the time. Unknown to me that he didn’t not give any member of the family anything from the proceeds of sales.”

On The Olugbesan Family Land And Power Of Attorney
In the year 2021, members of Olugbesan family that comprised of Mr Hazeem Gbolarunmi, Sulaimon Okunola with the consent and approval of Baba Durosomo sought the services of Mich Royal Company Nigeria Limited to sell their family
land located at Olugbesan’s village, Ido Local Government, Ibadan. After series of meetings held at the Company’ head office, the family agreed on certain terms and conditions and parties were advised to give their consents inn black and white.

The Mogaji of Olugbesan family, ex-deputy Governor of Oyo State, being a Legal practitioner suggested that rather than making ordinary documents, power of Attorney would be preferable. And the power of attorney was prepared and executed in my favour and thus, made me a lawful Attorney of Olugbesan family’s land who are the genuine and undisputed owners of the parcel of land situate, lying and being at Olugbesan Village, Ido Local Government Area, of Ibadan, Oyo State of Nigeria measuring approximately 350 Acres by virtue of inheritance under Yoruba native law and Custom. Based on the agreement made by the parties, my other colleagues in the office suggested that I should get the power of attorney duly registered as legal instrument. After that, I and my other colleagues in the office- Mogaji Adeniyi Adeleke, Alhaia Bilikisu Otitoloju Ela, Tunde Peters, Alhaji Bello (Baba Abuja) Laide Okeyemi and Abidogun were taken to inspect the land, measuring approxirmately 350 acres of land. After that, series of legal operations were carried out at different times on the land and I and others mobilised buyers to the land in order to buy and monies collected were remitted into the account of their Mogaji- Mr Hazeem Gbolarunmi. Having being in operations of the site for 2 years, without any problem, Mr Hazeem Gbolarunmi began selling the land the land himself despite the power of attorney that was issued to me by the family. This went on for a while before he requested us at Mich Royal Company Nigeria Limited to come and give account of what we have sold so far on the land. We obliged him and equally told to give us the details of what he has personally sold for us to be able to provide full report of what was given to us to sale. He refused and we told him that the report would be inconclusive if he did not give us the actual numbers of acres he had personally sold. For sometimes, we didn’t hear from him again not knowing that he had ulterior motives. It was later when police officers came to arrest me and my colleagues in the office that we knew what his silence was all about.

He instigated the petition that cost me and my other colleaques more than 1 Million Naira before we were granted bail despite the fact that bail is free. I was forced to even write a letter of undertaking by the operatives of the Gender unit, Police Headquarters in Abuja.

After the interview in Abuja, the officers took me to a corner where they forced me to make a transfer of N400,000,00 to a POS operator at Police Headquarter Area 10 Garki Abuja.
This happened after several days of incarceration, hunger, affliction and persecution at the police cell, Iyaganku State CID, Ibadan, where I was denied access to food, families, doctor and even lawyer.

Forced To Write Letter Of Undertaking By Operatives Of Gender Unit, Police Headquarters In Abuja
Following several threats and intimidation by operatives of the Gender Unit, Police Headquarters in Abuja, I was forced to write a letter of undertaking to give Mr Gbolarunmi a sum of N65m. I rejected this but my lawyer who was with me during the entire period advised that I should write the letter for me and my other colleagues to be able to secure our freedom and that he would be seeking redress for us in the court of law to show that the letter of undertaking which Mr Gbolarunmi is referring to today was made under duress.

Some Of The Lands Mr Gbolarunmi Sold Personally

He sold 20 acress to one company known as Fagem Company through one Femi Adeoye popularly known as Femi Baale. He equally sold another 50 acres to one Princess Biodun Omotade Odumosun based in Lagos with registered survey no OY/3523/2022 prepared by Tuntop Geo Survey Company. He even begged us at Mich Royal Company Nigeria Limited that he wanted to use the money to obtain PDP Governorship enrolment form for the 2023 Election. As a matter of fact, it was me, Prince Gbolagade Adeyemi that paid the surveyor fee to Surveyor Akanni.

When Family Later Confronted Gbolarunmi About Proceeds On The Sales Of Land He Lied
Later, when some brave members of the Olugbesan confronted Mr Gbolarunmi about proceeds from the sales of the land, he lied to them that an estate company had been selling the land illegally and that he had taken step to get them arrested. After labelling us as land grabbers to the family; the family took the matter up by involving the media. This prompted me to visit the Olugbesan family compound with all evidences of payment, tellers that bear the account details of Mr Hazeem Gbolarunmi. I told them of the power of attorney and agreement and also that money generated were remmitted into Gbolarumi’s account.

Unknown To Me That All Monies I Remitted Into Mr Gbolarunmi’s Account On The Sales Of The Olugbesan Family Land, He Converted To Personal Use

It was after I visited the Olugbesan family compound that I discovered that all the monies that Mr Gbolarunmi has collected from Mich Royal Company Nigeria Limited was not given to any member of the family. And this was contrary to what he has been telling me. After showing evidences and undeniable proof of payment into Gbolarumi’s account, the family later apologized to me.

Matter Still In Court And Further Legal Action Are Being Taken To Address Illegal Arrest, Intimidation And Threat To My Life And That Of Other Staff Members Of Mich Royal Company Nigeria Limited
