Orphanage Marks 16th Anniversary In Abuja

An orphanage home, Fatherless/ Motherless Children Aid Organisation (FACADO) has marked it’s 16th anniversary of helping orphans in Abuja.


The Founder, Ambassador Ngozi Anih George while speaking at the program explained that, the orphanage was founded in 2006 with the vision to improve the living conditions of orphans.

She noted that the society is safer for all when children irrespective of the circumstance of their birth or social strata are supported to grow into their potential.


” The orphanage was founded to improve living conditions of orphans, we believe only well rounded and trained children can be peaceful, law abiding citizen who can contribute to the development of the society” she said.


She noted that the challenges they have been facing through the years is the challenge of inadequate resources and funding to train the children, getting good teachers and feeding the children while also adding that government subvention are difficult to access.


She however called on government and well meaning individuals in the society to support various projects of the orphanage towards education and feeding.


The Minister of State of Federal Capital Territory ( FCT), Dr. Ramat Tijani Aliyu in her message explained that the vision to give hope to the downtrodden and offer succour has been put in a few people in the society like the founder of the orphanage.


Aliyu who was represented by Mrs Grace Adayilo, Director Gender Fepartment of the FCTA, further stated that there were programs to address issues of children on the street,she noted that orphanages are regulated by government even as she pointed out that government was working on giving orphanages subvention.


One of the children of Amb Ngozi George School, Joy Ben a JSS 1 student, explained that aside school they were taught how to use computer systems and also how the bake to help them to be resourceful
