Zenon, the downstream oil company of Nigeria’s tycoon, Mr. Femi Otedola is taking its case of perceived persecution for failing to kowtow to the extortion devices of federal lawmakers, to the court of public opinion by
releasing documents showing the volume of Premium Motor Spirit it imported in 2010.
Zenon, whose Chief Execitive, Mr. Otedola had accused the lawmakers of ‘celebrating corruption’, by re-listing the company as wanting in the oil subsidy management review, an action that many Nigerians now see as vindictive.
The company gave blow-by-blow details of how much it was paid to supply the commodity, the value of the commodity actually supplied and the different certifications from the relevant authorizing agencies on its job performance.
Also, Zenon said that contrary to the lawmakers’ position that it received $232, 975,385.13 in forex to supply products in 2010, the actual amount of forex that it received was $327,207,990.
