A member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Sidi H. Ali, has accused the former Aide to the Minister of Communications, Dr Adebayo Shittu,
of sabotage in the minister’s march to becoming the governor of the state in 2019.
Though, the law maker did mention the name of the Minister’s former aide, however, Mr. Victor Oluwadamilare, the immediate past special adviser on media recently resigned his appointment as a result of issues which lingered between him and the minister for long, Sharpedgenews online learnt.
Mr. Bolaji Kazeem Oladimeji, the new Minister’s Media Aide, in a statement made available to the media on Wednesday said Ali advised Shittu’s political associates to ignore attempt by unscrupulous and sponsored former assistant trying to demonize his office through falsehood, unsubstantiated allegations and abuses.
Oladimeji said the House of Representative member in the letter he wrote to the ministry revealed that Shittu was being demonized to in order to block his political aspiration in the state.
The statement read: “In one of the letters, Hon. Sidi H. Ali observed that it was a sponsored accusation to demonize the Minister in order to block his political aspiration in Oyo state.”
According to him, the Minister’s political enemy has infiltrated trusted associate who has been on the ground and benefitted from the office of the Minister through exposure to local and international conferences.
In his words, “The Minister being a loyal associate of President Muhammad Buhari have stabilized and sustained the growth and development in communication sector in partnership with the stakeholders in the sector.”
The Minister according to Ali has opened a new chapter in the history of the sector through formulation of ICT Roadmap with the support of the stakeholders that provides an outline for the development of the ICT sector for the next three years as well as other initiative that involves the identification of key business processes that relates to the delivery of services to citizens by MDAs.
As a front-runner in the political calculation in Oyo state, Ali, urged the minister to continue his good work in his ministry and develop a thick skin to political jobbers trying to forestall developmental progress of the country under the present dispensation.
