Pandemonium as Police Inspector Kills Corporal, Commits Suicide

By Frank Momoh Dutse Alhaji, a busy and commercial nerve centre in Bwari Local Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was thrown into pandemonium and confusion on Saturday following the shooting of Police Corporal by his superior colleague, an Inspector of Police in the hierarchy. While the immediate cause of the fracas which results in the two deaths have not being made known by the Police Command, it however said that the incident was regrettable. Spokesperson, for the command, ASP Yusuf Mariam, in a statement made available to the media condemns the unfortunate incident that took place around midday at the Dutse Alhaji Division. She said: “Preliminary investigation reveals that the deceased Inspector fired a shot at the Corporal leading to his death and injuring a Deputy Superintendent of Police before he committed suicide. While commiserating with the family members of the deceased, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident and put measures in place to forestall the reoccurrence of such incident. “The Command urges residents to remain calm while reiterating its commitment to provide adequate security during the Christmas/New year Celebrations.” She said.
