PCC holds 5-Day capacity training, tasks participants on clear, constructive communication

The Public Complaints Commission (PCC) on the 16th-20th September 2024, held a 5-Days capacity training workshop in Katsina state with the Theme titled: “Effective Communication and Performance Ratings: to boost capacity and enhanced performance among members of staff in the state. 

The Training Facilitator, Dr. Abubakar Atiku Mohammed phD, while tasking participants on clear and constructive communication said the exercise was aimed at enhancing performance and boosting the staff competencies for productivity in service delivery. 

According to the training facilitator, the Commission has deemed it fit to enhance performance by improving on staff competencies so as to be able to perform their duty efficiently and effectively at the workplace. 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the topics discussed during the training exercise include; Professional in the Civil Service, Effective Communication Skills, Financial Regulations, Team Work/Problem Solving. 

Others are, Investigation Techniques and Evidence Gathering, Time and Stress Management, Conflict and Mediation Skills, Transformational Leadership, Group Work/Presentation. 

“I want to call all the participants of the training on effective communication skills and performance rating. They should always Remember that clear and constructive communication is key to fostering strong team dynamics, enhancing productivity, and reducing misunderstandings.

“By mastering these skills, they can be more effective providing and receive feedback, which is crucial for driving both personal and organizational growth. 

“Applying these principles will not only boost their performance but also positively influence the way others perceive and collaborate with one another. Keep practicing, stay open to learning, and maintain consistency in your communication efforts.

“Dealing with complainants and handling complaints effectively requires effective communication skills and so the management of PCC deemed it fit to enhance performance by improving on staff competencies so as to be able to perform their duty efficiently and effectively,” he said.
