PDP Removes Haliru Bello as BoT Chairman

Dr. Haliru Bello Mohammed, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman has been sacked.

Haliru was sacked for allegedly involving in the disbursement of $2.1 billion meant for arms purchase which was diverted for political purposes by the former NSA Sambo.

The Secretary of BOT, Senator Walid Jibril, is to serve as Acting Chairman/Secretary until the emergence of a new chairman.

Jibil made the announcement on Wednesday at the PDP National Headquarters at Zone 5, Wuse District in Abuja.

It will be recalled that the ‎ National Working Committee (NWC) had, in a statement on Monday, postponed the proposed meetings of the National Caucus, the BoT and the National Executive Committee (NEC), which were earlier scheduled this week for the adoption of a new National Chairman for the party.
